We Minister to Each Other
The revised liturgy reflects the ideas that the entire community ministers to each other at the liturgy or Mass. Therefore, we have several ministries evident at Sunday Mass.
We are in need of the following:
+ Ministers of the Word or Lectors
+ Ministers of the Eucharist
+ Ministers of Hospitality or Ushers/Greeters
+ Servers or Acolytes
At this time, I am asking each parishioner to consider one of these ministries. With enough people, you may only have to serve at one Sunday Mass a month except for the ushers, who usually come to one Mass each Sunday. We also work around your schedule to accommodate the Mass convenient for you and your time away. We usually publish the schedule every few months so you know in advance.
Lectors need a good voice to proclaim before a congregation. Servers can be adults, as well as youth – a couple or family can serve. We also have a music ministry, which is doing well but we can always use volunteer leaders of song or choir members. See Andrew Cyr, our music director, if you are interested.
Once we gather all the names, we will schedule training sessions for you to prepare for your ministry and then at some point install you at one of the Sunday Masses. Now is the time to come forward. Call me at the rectory or e-mail me at padrealex@yahoo.com and leave the phone numbers where I can reach you.
Parish Task Forces
The pastor has called for parishioners with experience in these fields: business, finance, legal, maintenance, property management, personnel and human resources to volunteer on task forces to plan for the future of OLG. The committees will meet infrequently.
Please call the rectory or e-mail: padrealex@yahoo.com and leave your telephone numbers.
